1MC Presenter - Treasurer Box Kids
Treasure Box Kids – Founded by Carolyn Bailey, presented January 6, 2016 at 1MC Orlando. Carolyn developed her love for sewing when she was 10 years old. She channeled that passion for designing and producing colorful, trendy clothing for children and tackling a major social cause of human trafficking. Does this sound like Superwoman? Well, it piqued the interest of those in the 1MC Orlando audience for sure.
Parents, grandparents, and friends can shop online and select stylish children’s clothing from newborn to size 7. The garments are a creative mixture of unique American-made independent designs with embellishments that make the garments pop and the envy of other parents. So does it get better? Absolutely, this young company manufactures in the US to support the local economy and is also ethically manufacturing overseas in Kenya to help victims of human trafficking.
Treasure Box Kids will launch an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign January 11 – February 12, 2016. The goal is to raise $20K that will be used to begin the manufacturing process of a new line of clothing named Little Maisha. This new line will employ former human trafficking victims in Kenya and allow women to educate their children so that they do not become victims of human traffickers. Carolyn plans on opening a Orlando, FL. clothing production house in 2016 to accomplish the same thing in the USA. So check Treasure Box Kids out and know you that you are making a difference in women's and children's life's and bringing global impact in the area of human trafficking.
